Kuli (V/R), Oct. 3, GNA – Reverend Martin Amenaki, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ketu North, has engaged traditional leaders and opinion leaders of Kuli on the adoption of a Local Plan to guide the orderly development of Kuli New Town.

The engagement, held with staff and members of the Technical Sub-Committee and Spatial Planning Committee of the Ketu North Municipal Assembly, focused on the need to regulate physical development and ensure sustainable growth within the community.

The MCE said the rapid expansion of Kuli New Town without adequate planning required urgent measures to guide development and prevent haphazard construction.

He said the initiative formed part of the Assembly’s broader vision to transform Kuli New Town into a well-planned and modern community within the Municipality.

According to him, the Local Plan would provide a framework for the development of properly laid-out roads, residential and commercial areas, public spaces, and the provision of essential social amenities.

He said the plan would also serve as a blueprint for the future development of the community and help prevent uncoordinated development and land-related disputes.

Reverend Amenaki said a properly planned community would create an attractive environment for investment, decent housing and improved living conditions for residents.

He expressed satisfaction with the positive response from Torgbui Avorkliya V, Mama Kawoey II and the opinion leaders, who welcomed the initiative and pledged their support and cooperation towards its successful implementation.

The MCE assured the traditional authorities that the Assembly would work closely with them and other relevant stakeholders throughout the planning and implementation process.

He said the Assembly remained committed to promoting orderly, sustainable and planned development across communities in the Ketu North Municipality.

The engagement formed part of efforts by the Assembly to strengthen collaboration with traditional authorities in managing physical development and ensuring that emerging communities grew in a coordinated manner.
