Gomoa Fetteh Kakraba (C/R), Oct 07, GNA-The KAAF University has matriculated 1,750 fresh students to pursue programmes across a broad range of disciplines, including STEM-related programmes and Humanities as well as graduate studies for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The matriculants includes 1,005 females, representing 57.4 percent, demonstrating the University’s continuing commitment to providing access to quality higher education for all.

Prof Alhassan Musah, Vice-Chancellor (VC) of KAAF, at the ceremony at the premises of the university in Gomoa Fetteh Kakraba, stated that 40 students from outside Ghana were among the matriculants to further strengthen the diversity and the international character of KAAF University.

“You have not merely joined the university, but you are part of a community committed to academic excellence, innovation, integrity, discipline, leadership and service.”

KAAF, he indicated, believed that education must go beyond certificates, but equip students with knowledge, critical-thinking abilities, practical skills, ethical values, and the confidence to confront real-world challenges.

He said, their presence added to the diversity, energy, and intellectual strength of the University, and their journey would be both exciting and demanding because, university education required commitment and personal responsibility.

He noted that while lecturers guided them, they must also develop the discipline to read widely, conduct research, ask questions, participate actively in class and seek knowledge beyond the classroom.

“Remember you did not come to the University merely to pass examinations but to learn, discover, innovate and develop solutions to problems as the world is changing rapidly.”

Prof Musah said Technology, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, climate change, globalization, and changing labour-market demands were transforming the nature of work and society, hence the need to be more than degree holders, problem-solvers, innovators, ethical leaders, effective communicators and lifelong learners.

“ You are expected to conduct yourselves with honesty, respect, discipline, responsibility and integrity and know that academic dishonesty, examination malpractice, plagiarism, falsification of records, violence and other forms of misconduct have no place in KAAF University,” he cautioned.

Prof Musah encouraged them to be punctual, keep their word, respect others and take responsibility for their actions and to remember that, a successful graduate was measured not only by what he or she knows, but also how that knowledge would be used and the kind of person the graduate became.

“As a university, we are committed to preparing graduates who can contribute meaningfully to national and global development, and your reputation begins with the choices you make today.”

He urged them to cultivate entrepreneurial mindsets and not to be asking for Jobs but creating some, be problem solvers and look for ways to add value, saying Africa was facing challenges, and within these challenges were the chances for innovation, enterprise, research and leadership and applied knowledge.

“KAAF is committed at providing a conducive environment for learning, to grow, innovate realize their potential and to continue strengthen its academic programmes, student support systems, research capacity, digital resources, industry linkages and opportunities for practical learning.

“May your years at KAAF University be intellectually enriching, personally transformative and professionally rewarding, and may you leave this institution not only with a degree, but with the knowledge, skills, values, and confidence to make a positive difference in the society,” he added.

Later Dr Linda Anane Donkor, the Registrar of the University administered the matriculation oath.
