Ziavi (V/R), Oct. 21, GNA – Mr Richmond Edem Kofi Kpotosu, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ho Central, has donated four wooden double-decker bunk beds to Ziavi Senior High Technical School to improve students’ accommodation and welfare.
The donation followed appeals and formal requests from senior high and technical schools in the constituency for support to augment their dormitory facilities and address accommodation challenges confronting students.
The MP said the intervention was intended to improve students’ comfort, dignity, and general welfare by providing a more conducive environment for rest and learning.
He described education as the bedrock of national development and reaffirmed his commitment to initiatives that would improve teaching, learning and student welfare, noting that decent accommodation could motivate students to pursue academic excellence and prepare for responsible leadership.
Mr Kpotosu said Ziavi Senior High Technical School was the first beneficiary of the initiative, assuring other schools in the Ho Central Constituency that had made similar requests that efforts would be made to extend the support to them in due course.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Samuel Frimpong expressed gratitude to the MP for the donation and assured him that the bunk beds would be put to good use.
He also appealed to the MP to support the provision of adequate boarding accommodation for students, explaining that some students were occupying classroom blocks and needed to be moved into suitable residential facilities.
The intervention forms part of efforts to improve school accommodation and promote student welfare, while highlighting the need for sustained support for infrastructure in senior high and technical schools.
