Adaklu Wumenu (V/R), Oct. 15, GNA – Mr Christopher Galenkui, Assemblyman for Adaklu Wumenu electoral area in the Adaklu District says the visible progress of work on the Ho -Aflao road under the “Big Push” Road initiative by government was not a mere political rhetoric.
“The government needs to be commended for making the Big Push initiative a reality, not a political gimmick,” he said.
He also commended the contractor working on the road for the seriousness attached to the work adding “the progress of work by the contractor is more than just asphalt and machinery; it represents a profound relief from persistent anxiety.”
Mr Galenkui said this after inspecting sections of the road that passes through some communities in his electoral area.
The communities are Agbokofe, Wayanu, Adaklu Wumenu, Kpogadzi, Kpovienu and Tedefeafenui.
Mr Galenkui stated that the road was so deplorable resulting in many road accidents that caused a lot of fatalities.
“The transition of this deplorable road to a modern and a well-constructed one is being hailed by the people in the electoral area.
“As a critical component of the ambitious Big Push Road project linking Ho to Aflao, it marks a turning point for local connectivity and economic development,” he said.
He hoped the road when completed would open up the area to investors and also improve the living standards of the people.
“Farmers can now transport their foodstuffs to the marketing centres and facilitate the movement of goods and services.
“It will also improve road safety, accessibility and foster the growth and development of the electoral area,” he said.
He called on drivers and other road users to be cautious of the ongoing works on the road to avoid accidents.
It may be recalled that Mr Galenkui in 2023 appealed to the government through the Ghana News Agency to reconstruct the Ho – Aflao road due to the number of accidents on the road especially in his electoral area.
