Accra, Oct. 21, GNA — Young girls have been challenged to be limitless in their imagination, thoughts, ambitions and plans.
They have been asked not to allow present circumstances to determine the extent of their future.
Ms Abigail Tobbin, a Lawyer and Guest Speaker gave the encouragement at the 2026 celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child organised by the Ghana Education Service in collaboration with the Church of Pentecost (CoP) Headquarters, Women’s Ministry and Schools Outreach Ministry.
The Day is marked globally on October 11 to address the unique challenges faced by girls and promote their empowerment and rights.
The International theme is: “End child marriage and invest in girls’ rights.” whiles the regional sub-theme, is:” Investing in the health, safety and empowerment of the Girl Child.”
Ms Tobbin said one of the greatest hindrances to girls’ progress was the limitation of their imaginations.
“Sometimes, before the world even tells us what we cannot become, we have already convinced ourselves that certain things are beyond our reach. Today, I want to encourage you to be limitless,” she stated.

The Lawyer urged girls to make invest in their thoughts, dreams and preparation for their future, noting that God’s promise of a future does did not eliminate the process of getting there.
Quoting Jeremiah 29:11, she said God had plans to prosper and give hope and a future, and had placed greatness and purpose within each person, but in the process, people became distracted or discouraged.
“Your dreams may have no limits, but your actions must have direction,” she said, drawing from her own academic journey,” Ms Tobbin added.
She challenged girls not to wait for opportunities but to equip themselves with knowledge, skills and discipline to create them.
