Accra, Oct. 18, GNA – Ghana will host an automotive trade fair and exhibition in December to connect industry players and promote investment in vehicle assembly, component manufacturing and related services.
The Ghana Auto Trade Fair and Exhibition (GATFE 2026), launched in Accra on Friday, is scheduled for December 5 to 10 at the Black Star Square.
The event, organised by Resonate Ghana Limited in collaboration with the Ministries of Trade and Transport, the Black Star Experience and the National Road Safety Authority, will bring together vehicle manufacturers, importers, spare parts dealers, financial institutions, insurers and other stakeholders.
Ms Theodora Wuni, Executive Director of GATFE, said the exhibition would provide a platform for industry players to establish business connections and explore opportunities to develop Ghana’s automotive sector.
“This platform is to bridge the gap between manufacturers, assemblers and stakeholders, for us all to connect and explore the avenues for the growth and development of Ghana,” she said at the launch.
The event is being held under the theme, “Driving Innovation and Synergies within the Auto Ecosystem.”
Ms Wuni encouraged businesses, exhibitors, investors and members of the public to participate in the exhibition, which she said would focus on strengthening collaboration across the automotive value chain.
The fair comes as Ghana seeks to expand its automotive industry beyond vehicle assembly to include local production of components and spare parts.
The Ghana Automotive Development Policy, introduced in 2019, seeks to attract investment, promote local assembly and position the country as a competitive automotive manufacturing hub in West Africa.

Several international brands, including Toyota, Volkswagen, Nissan and Suzuki, have established assembly operations in Ghana.
However, the market remains heavily dependent on imported vehicles, particularly used cars, creating opportunities to develop local manufacturing and supply chains.
The government has approved a separate automotive component manufacturing policy to encourage local production of parts for assembly plants and the vehicle aftermarket.
