Beirut, Sept 30. (dpa/GNA) – Passengers from a Flydubai flight that made an emergency landing in the Saudi city of Tabuk, appeared shaken, as Saudi medical teams attended to them at the airport on Wednesday.
One video showed Saudi medical personnel, moving through the passengers, checking their vital signs, taking blood pressure readings and providing assistance.
Some passengers appeared visibly distressed, with tears in their eyes, as they waited in the terminal, while others sat quietly, clutching their belongings and trying to contact relatives.
The airport was filled with a tense mix of activity and relief, as a female medical worker clad in black with a black veil attended to them.
Passengers were guided away from the aircraft and gathered in small clusters, some embracing one another after the unexpected landing. One passenger was seen with blood stains on his white T-shirt, although it was not immediately clear how he had been injured or whether the blood was his own.
Medical personnel examined passengers individually and treated those who required further care.
The passengers had been aboard Flydubai flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv, which issued a distress call before diverting to Tabuk, according to airport authorities.
The aircraft landed safely at 9:45 am. Saudi airport authorities said both the captain and co-pilot were injured and taken to hospital for treatment.
Flydubai said all passengers and crew were safe, and the airline was coordinating arrangements for an alternative aircraft.
