Tema, Oct. 01, GNA-Mr Emma Bennett, an educationist, has called for stronger collaboration between parents and teachers to support children’s academic development, behavior and overall wellbeing.
Mr Emma Bennett, Headteacher of Gina’s Angel School, said a strong parent-teacher relationship helped identify children’s challenges early, reinforce positive behavior and establish consistent expectations at home and school.
Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), he urged parents to know their children beyond the classroom through regular communication with teachers.
Mr Bennett Emman Raymond, Chief Executive Officer of Intellect School Quiz Educational Consult, said parents could support teachers by ensuring that their children attended school regularly, completed homework, read at home and developed positive study habits.
Mr Raymond stated that parents should reinforce positive behaviors and form strong partnerships with teachers to help children gain support both at home and in school.
He said effective communication between parents and teachers could provide useful information about children’s interests, strengths, learning habits, family circumstances, and challenges that might affect their learning.
He encouraged teachers to share positive developments in children’s progress with parents as part of efforts to strengthen their involvement in their children’s education.
“Parents and teachers should not see themselves as separate sides because they are partners with a shared responsibility in helping the child learn, develop good character and reach their potential,” he said.
