Accra, Oct. 16, GNA – Mr David Selassie Anthony, popularly known as Dee Mayor, has declared his intention to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Deputy National Organiser position, pledging to strengthen grassroots mobilisation.
In a statement shared with the Ghana News Agency, he said his priorities would include strengthening constituency and regional structures, improving organisers’ welfare and mobilising supporters for the 2028 general elections.
“The strength of this party has never been at the top. It has always been in the constituencies,” he said.
Mr Anthony said his decision followed consultations with party members, organisers and supporters across the regions.
“An organiser who gives the party his time should not be the last person the party remembers,” he said.
A building engineer and farmer, Mr Anthony is the founder of the De Mayor Foundation, a non-profit organisation focused on humanitarian services.
He has served as an NDC branch communications officer, constituency executive and member of the National Communications Team, with responsibility for social media during the party’s eight years in opposition.
Mr Anthony has also been a personal assistant to the National Communications Officer, Mr Sammy Gyamfi, since 2018.
He said he would announce specific campaign commitments in the coming weeks.
