Leklebi (V/R), Oct. 17, GNA –The BrightSeed: Nova Care GH Foundation, in partnership with the Afadzato South District Assembly, has donated educational materials to pupils of Leklebi Dafor Primary School and Have Gborhome Basic School to enhance teaching and learning in the district.

The donation forms part of the Foundation’s two-day medical and educational outreach in Afadzato South, which earlier saw a free health screening exercise at Logba Alakpeti.

The items donated include school bags, toothbrushes, and toothpaste for the pupils.

In addition to the donation, the Foundation also organized free health screening for pupils and teachers of Have Gborhome Basic School to promote good oral hygiene and general well-being among school children.

The Headmaster of Leklebi Dafor Primary School, Mr Benedict Atabuati, expressed gratitude to the Foundation and the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afadzato South, Mr Manfred Tawiah, for their support to education in the area.

Mr Atabuati said the intervention was timely and would motivate pupils to stay in school and take their studies seriously, adding that many of the children lacked basic learning materials.

He appealed for more support for the school, particularly in teaching and learning materials and infrastructure.

The DCE, Mr Tawiah, who led the team to the schools, advised pupils to be punctual, disciplined and to take their academic work seriously, noting that they are future leaders of the district.

He said the Assembly was committed to improving education in the district and would continue to partner with development partners and NGOs to support schools.

Mr Tawiah said the Assembly would not relent in its efforts to ensure that every child in Afadzato South has access to quality education in a conducive environment.

He urged teachers and parents to play their respective roles to ensure that the investments being made in education yield positive results.

A pupil of Leklebi Dafor Primary School, Makafui, who spoke on behalf of her colleagues, expressed appreciation to the Foundation and the DCE for the gesture.

She said the bags and other items would help them keep their books safe and maintain personal hygiene.

She assured that they would study hard to justify the support given to them.

Teachers and pupils in both schools expressed joy over the donation and called for its sustenance.
