Sarbie, (Bono), Oct. 04, GNA – Mr Ahmed Ibrahim, the Member of Parliament for Banda Constituency in the Bono Region, has urged the members of the communities in the area to bury their differences, forge ahead in unity for the purpose of development.
He said unity of purpose could facilitate accelerated development of the constituency and to better the living condition of all.
Mr Ibrahim, also the Minister of Works, Housing and Water Resources, gave the advice when he addressed the chiefs and people of Sarbie, a community in the constituency, after he inspected works on some on-going development projects in the area.
He said peace and unity remained pre-requisite for development adding that with a formidable front the development of aspirations of the local communities could be achieved.
“Local communities can accomplish more when we come and work together as one people with common goals and aspirations,” he advised.
Mr Ibrahim, who was in the area for the “Accounting to the People” tour, handed over to the SarbIe community a renovated health centre and inspected a police station and school block projects.
He earlier inspected the progress of works on roads, a football pitch, staff bungalows, school blocks, police stations, Community-based Health Service (CHPS) Compounds and KVIP toilets spread across, Dorbor, Bofie, Banda Boase and Biema.
Mr Ibrahim emphasised that he would remain accountable to the people, He said: “I don’t want to leave office before you question my stewardship.”.
He pledged to ensure that development projects were shared equally in the local communities and to better the lives of the people.
Mr Ibrahim called for the people’s support and cooperation towards advancing the development of the Banda District.
Mr Joseph Addae Akwaboa, the Bono Regional Minister, noted that successive National Democratic Congress (NDC) administrations had remained dedicated towards the development of the district, dating back from the era of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings.
Nana Sie Manaa I, the Chief of SarbIe commended the government for bringing the development of the area to the next level.
He expressed concern about the deplorable conditions of roads in the area, and appealed to the government to reshape the roads.
Nana Manaa I also appealed for the renovation of the Sarbie Roman Catholic Basic School to enhance effective teaching and learning and thereby better the academic performance of the students.
