Akatsi (VR), Oct. 27, GNA – Mr Thomas Yao Atidepe, Founder and Leader of the Atidepe Foundation, has been elected Deputy Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Akatsi South, adding a party leadership responsibility to his grassroots engagement and community development work.
He secured 609 votes in the constituency executive elections held on Saturday, October 24, at the Akatsi College of Education (AKAST), defeating Mr Edem Nassa, who polled 349 votes, and Mr Atsu Ganyo, who obtained 226 votes.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Mr Atidepe expressed appreciation to delegates, party members, supporters and well-wishers for their encouragement and support throughout the electoral process.
He said his election presented an opportunity to serve the party with dedication, humility and transparency, while promoting unity among members.
As Deputy Secretary, Mr Atidepe is expected to support the constituency’s administrative and organisational work, including coordination and communication within the party’s structures.
The election formed part of the NDC’s constituency-level exercise to elect executives to lead the party at the grassroots.
