Teleku-Bokazo (W/R), Oct. 05, GNA – Mr. Andrew Ehoma Agyarko, an Executive Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ellembelle Constituency, has declared his intention to contest for the Vice-Chairmanship slot in the impending constituency elections.
According to him, long years of dedicated service to the NDC have prepared him to serve the party in the Vice-Chairmanship role as the party laces its boots for another victory in the 2028 general elections.
This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the office of Mr. Ehoma Agyarko and copied to the Ghana News Agency at Teleku-Bokazo in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region.
The NDC has opened nominations for new members to contest for positions in its branch elections as part of measures to ensure internal democracy.
According to him, he played a frontline role in the internal mediation efforts of the party between 1995 and 1996 at Asante Mampong as the party moved through Volta Regional towns like Ho, Kpando and Hohoe to improve upon relationships between Ashantis and Voltarians regarding hatred sown among them.
As a tutor at Saint Joseph Training College, now College of Education, he was instrumental in promoting the NDC on campus through youth activities in the dioceses by inviting key leaders to hold talks at fora and excursions at Bechem between 1998 and 2004.
The statement said as patron of students at Nsein, Mr. Ehoma Agyarko helped in the mobilization of students for registration and voting for constituencies such as Ellembelle, Evalue Ajomoro-Gwira, Tarkwa Nsuaem, Jomoro and Ahanta West from 2008 to date.
It said as a second-term branch chairman and currently a constituency executive member since 2022 as well as zonal coordinator for elections, he was able to marshal forces to win all polling stations in Nkroful, Teleku-Bokazo and Anwia for the first time.
The statement therefore described Mr. Ehoma Agyarko as a veritable politician, tried and tested, who has the knack to team up with incoming constituency executives to strengthen the grassroots for the party to retain the seat in the 2028 elections.
