Akatsi (V/R), Oct. 19, GNA – Mr Daniel Dagba, the Akatsi South Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has urged local entrepreneurs to prioritise proper packaging, branding and product presentation to improve the marketability and competitiveness of their goods.
He said attractive packaging and quality presentation were important aspects of value addition that could help local businesses attract customers, expand their markets and compete effectively with products from other parts of the country and beyond.
Mr Dagba made the call during a day’s trade show exhibition organised by the Business Resource Centre (BRC), in collaboration with the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly and the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), to showcase products developed by beneficiaries of the Business in a Box (BizBox) project.
He commended the exhibitors for the high standards of packaging and presentation displayed, describing their efforts as “value addition”.
He urged entrepreneurs to pay attention to the appearance, quality, and finishing of their products, noting that such measures could enhance consumer confidence and create opportunities for business growth.
Mr Dagba also called for concerted efforts among local industry players to transform raw materials into finished products that met internationally accepted standards.
He said adding value to locally available resources could help reduce waste, create employment opportunities, and strengthen economic activity within the municipality.
The exhibition, being held at the BRC premises at the Akatsi Municipal Assembly, featured a range of locally produced goods, including processed foods, detergents, soaps, clothing, beads, pastries and other products.
Participants who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) called for continued support from the government and donor agencies to help improve their businesses, expand production and enhance the quality of their products.
They said sustained assistance would enable them to overcome some of the challenges confronting their enterprises and take advantage of opportunities to grow their businesses.
The exhibition provided a platform for beneficiaries to display their products, interact with potential customers, and promote locally made goods.
It also offered an opportunity for entrepreneurs to showcase their skills and creativity while exploring avenues for expanding their businesses.
The BizBox project was aimed at supporting young people to develop entrepreneurial skills and establish sustainable businesses, with the exhibition highlighting products developed by beneficiaries.
