Kumasi, Oct. 10, GNA – Mr. Emmanuel Jackson Agumah, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afigya Kwabre North, has donated more than 500 mono and dual desks to the District Education Directorate for distribution to schools in the district.
The presentation forms part of efforts to improve educational infrastructure and create a conducive environment for teaching and learning.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mr. Agumah said the donation demonstrated his commitment to improving the quality of education in the district.
He pledged to work towards ensuring quality education during his tenure as DCE, noting that access to education had played a significant role in his personal development.
“My motivation to support education stems from the opportunity I had to go to school. I want to create that same opportunity for every child in this district,” he said.
Mr. Agumah expressed the hope that the furniture would help address some of the challenges facing schools and improve conditions for effective teaching and learning.
Madam Ellen Eshun, the District Director of Education, who received the items on behalf of the beneficiary schools, expressed gratitude to the DCE for the support.
She said the desks would be distributed to schools that needed them most to improve classroom conditions.
Madam Eshun assured the DCE that the furniture would be put to good use.
She, however, appealed for additional support to address logistical challenges facing the Directorate, particularly those affecting the effective supervision of schools.
She said providing the Directorate with the necessary logistics would strengthen its operational capacity and enable officers to carry out their supervisory duties more efficiently.
