Tafi Mador (V/R), Oct. 11, GNA – The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Afadzato South Constituency has scheduled its internal constituency elections for October 24, this year.
The elections will be held at Ve-Agbome, Nneka Camp.
The announcement follows a meeting held on October 9, at Tafi Mador, where party members discussed preparations and arrangements for the electoral exercise.
Mr Denise Golo, the Director of Elections for the constituency, disclosed that one person who picked a nomination form failed to submit it before the close of nominations.
He said positions being contested include constituency chairman, vice-chairman, secretary, deputy secretary, organiser, deputy organiser, treasurer, deputy treasurer, communication officer, youth organiser and women organiser, among others.
Mr Golo appealed to aspirants, delegates and other stakeholders to maintain unity and cohesion throughout the electoral process.
He said unity was key to strengthening the party’s chances in the 2028 general elections.
The internal elections form part of the NDC’s broader efforts to renew its leadership structures at the constituency, regional and national levels.
The exercise is expected to provide delegates the opportunity to elect executives to steer the affairs of the constituency and strengthen grassroots structures ahead of the 2028 general elections.
