Adwoa Safo announces return to Dome-Kwabenya NPP parliamentary race

Accra, Oct. 24, GNA – Ms Adwoa Safo has announced her intention to contest the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries in the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency.

In a statement published on her Facebook page on Thursday, she said the decision was informed by her enduring commitment to the people of Dome-Kwabenya and that it was her conviction that more could be done to advance the constituency’s development.

The former Member of Parliament (MP) of the constituency said the decision followed careful reflection, extensive consultation and broad-based engagement with party leadership and executives.

“I formally announce my intention to once again present myself for consideration as the New Patriotic Party Parliamentary Candidate for the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency when the party announces the timetable and guidelines for the parliamentary primaries,” she said.

Ms Safo said she had earlier indicated her intention to pursue opportunities beyond the constituency but had reconsidered after reflecting on her responsibilities to the people.

“Upon deeper reflection, I have come to appreciate that there is no greater honour or responsibility than serving and representing the interests and aspirations of the over two hundred thousand constituents of our beloved constituency in Parliament,” she said.

She described Dome-Kwabenya as one of the fastest-growing constituencies in Ghana, with significant opportunities as well as major development challenges.

Ms Safo noted that during her tenure as MP, she worked with residents, party members, community and religious leaders, and other stakeholders to address challenges and deliver development projects.

Although much remained to be done, she said she was committed to building on the progress made and working towards a better future for the constituency.

She said her aspiration was to serve all residents and help create a constituency where young people could realise their potential, families could thrive, and the concerns of ordinary residents received due attention.

Ms Safo called on party members, stakeholders and constituents to engage with her openly and respectfully on the constituency’s future and the leadership needed to drive its next phase of growth and development.
