Kiev, Sept 27. (dpa/GNA) – Russian air and drone strikes on Ukrainian cities have claimed at least three lives, according to official reports on Sunday.
One person was killed in the capital Kiev, when a combat drone exploded, and four others were injured, the regional military administration said.
The drones exploded in various districts of the city. A drone strike in the Brovary district also hit and damaged a large warehouse.
In Sumy in north-eastern Ukraine, two women were killed when aircraft bombs struck the city. One of the dead was a 16-year-old girl, local media reported on the messaging app Telegram. Five more people were injured. Just the day before, two people had been killed in a Russian airstrike on Sumy.
Ukraine has been defending itself against a full-scale Russian invasion for more than four and a half years.
With front lines deadlocked, Russia has been stepping up attacks on Ukrainian cities using its air force, combat drones and ballistic missiles.
