Tsito (V/R), Sept. 18, GNA – Fresh and first-year Senior High School (SHS) students are smoothly reporting to school at the Tsito Senior High Technical School in the Ho West District of the Volta Region.
When the Ghana News Agency (GNA) visited to the school on Friday, it observed prospective students arriving with their parents and guardians to complete the admission and reporting processes.
The freshers, many of whom carried mattresses, trunks, bags and other essential items, were seen going through the necessary formalities and procedures with assistance from school authorities.
Parents and guardians accompanying their wards also interacted with school officials to ensure that their children settled comfortably into the school environment.
Mr Derrick Quansah, a parent from Juapong, who accompanied his son to the school, said he was pleased with the arrangements put in place to receive the freshers.
He said the transition from Basic School to SHS was an important stage in every child’s educational journey and therefore required the support and cooperation of parents, guardians and school authorities.
Mr Quansah appealed to parents to provide their wards with the basic items required by the school to enable them to settle comfortably and concentrate on their studies.
Mr Worlanyo Atsu, another parent who accompanied his son to the school, expressed hope that the school would provide the students with the necessary academic and moral guidance.
He encouraged parents to maintain regular communication with their wards and school authorities to monitor their children’s academic progress and welfare.
Master Elikplim Quansah, a fresher pursuing a technical programme, expressed excitement about beginning a new chapter in his education.
Some of the other freshers also expressed enthusiasm about making new friends and participating in academic and extracurricular activities.
The reporting exercise forms part of the nationwide process for students placed in various SHS and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions to officially commence their programmes.
School authorities are expected to continue receiving students and completing the necessary admission formalities as the reporting period progresses.
