Kenyase (Ash), Sept. 21, GNA – Police operations in the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti Region have received a boost following the donation of two brand-new 4×4 pick-up vehicles to the Ghana Police Service.
The vehicles, donated by Nana Kwadwo Boateng, Domgya Komfo of Bosore, are expected to strengthen patrol operations and enhance efforts by the Kenyase Police Command to combat robbery and other criminal activities in the Municipality.
Nana Boateng said the donation formed part of his continued support for the Ghana Police Service, having undertaken several interventions to assist the Service over the years.
He cited the construction of the Police Depot Bank at the Kumasi Central Police Station, the construction of the Mamponteng Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) office, and the construction of the Moro Market Police fence wall.
He also mentioned the donation of pick-up vehicles during the commissioning of the Kenyase Police Station, as well as computers and printers to support the station’s operations.
Nana Boateng used the occasion to advise the youth to desist from substance abuse and the use of illicit drugs.
He cautioned that excessive alcohol consumption and the use of hard drugs could have serious effects on their health, physical development, education and social well-being.
Commissioner of Police (COP) Osei Akoto Arthur, the Ashanti Regional Police Command, receiving the keys to the vehicles, commended Nana Boateng for his continued support for the Ghana Police Service.
He assured the donor that the vehicles would be properly maintained and used for their intended purpose.
COP Arthur expressed optimism that the vehicles would contribute significantly to improving security and enhancing the delivery of justice within the Kwabre East Municipality.
Nana Baffour Akwasi Amoateng III, who represented the Chief of Kenyase, also commended Nana Boateng for his generosity.
He appealed to other organisations, banks and individuals to emulate the gesture by supporting the Ghana Police Service to enhance its operations and improve security in their communities.
