Kintampo (Bono East), Sept. 23, GNA – The Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) James Anani, the Kintampo North Municipal Police Commander has commended the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for enhancing the operations of the police patrol teams across the length and breadth of the country.Â
He emphasised that the recurring cases of armed robberies on the Kintampo-Buipe and other highways in the region and parts of the country had gone down drastically partly due to intensified police patrols and police visibility on the highways.
“The enhanced police patrol teams introduced by the IGP Christian Tetteh Yohunu is making significant impact in fighting crime wave and we must commend his administration in that regard”, ASP Anani told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Kintampo in the Bono East Region.
Describing the leadership and performance of the IGP and the police administration as fantastic, the police capo said the Kintampo north police command had also strengthened its operations and intensified patrols fighting crime wave head-on.
He said that: The intensified day and night patrols along highways like the Kintampo-Buipe stretch has been instrumental in foiling robbery attempts and arresting suspects”.
ASP Anani also lauded the IGP for facilitating the recent promotion of the 25 police personnel of the service, saying that promotions served as morale boosters which energized personnel on the ground.
He noted that residents in the Kintampo North Municipality were now safe and secured due to the visibility of police patrols and presence in the localities and called for sustained logistical support for the police to maintain the gains.
ASP Anani also appealed for deepened police-civilian collaboration in crime combat, urging the members of the communities in the area to endeavour to provide timely information to the police and to control crime waves.Â
