Atebubu, (Bono East) Sept. 29, GNA – A parent at Atebubu in the Bono East Region, Madam Akua Gyambea has appealed to the government to address the concerns of the striking teachers for them to return to the classroom.
She noted that taking proper care of children in the home was not an easy task, urging the government to consider the stress teachers went through in the classroom and address their demands.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Atebubu, as the teachers strike continued in the area, Mad Gyambea noted that: “We government to be sensitive enough and listen to and address the concerns of our sacrificial teachers”.
Meanwhile, all the public schools at Atebubu had been closed, as the teachers joined their colleagues in nationwide industrial action.
During round visits, the GNA noticed that all the classrooms at the Atebubu Anglican Primary School, Atebubu Early Childhood Development Model School, Atebubu Presby Primary “B” school, Atebubu SDA JHS and Atebubu Methodist “B” JHS were locked.
No teacher or pupil was sighted at the premises of the schools.
