Nkwanta South NDC grassroots receive 30 motorbikes to boost grounds work

By Patience Tawiah

Nkwanta (O/R), Sep. 6, GNA- Mr Joseph Awal Antwi, the Municipal Chief Executive of Nkwanta South, has presented 30 motorbikes to the executives of the National Democratic Congress in Nkwanta South.

The motorbikes, for which the MCE procured by lobbying for them from friends were presented through ugh the Oti Regional Minister, John Kwadwo Gyapong, and the Member of Parliament for the area, Geoffrey Kini.

The motorbikes are expected to be used to strengthen the party’s community engagement, particularly in hard-to-reach rural communities, by improving mobility for outreach and party activities.

The MCE, speaking during the handing over of the motorbikes said the motorbikes should be seen not merely as a donation but as strategic logistics to enhance the party’s work on the ground, including educating residents on ongoing development projects being undertaken by the NDC government.

Mr Antwi Awal, highlighting past experience as a former constituency communication officer and election director of the National Democratic Congress, noted that inadequate logistics, especially motorbikes, has been a key challenge limiting effective branch-level engagement.

He described the gesture as part of his effort to give back to the party and improve operations across the constituency.

He also urged party members to remain united and work diligently.

Mr Geoffrey Kini, the Member of Parliament for Nkwanta South Constituency, who received the donation on behalf of the NDC executives commended the MCE for the initiative and lobbying efforts, describing the support as timely and critical to strengthening grassroots party activities.

He praised the MCE’s performance, adding that development in the area has become more visible under the current administration.

Mr John Kwadwo Gyapong, the Oti Regional Minister and other dignitaries present applauded the MCE’s support and encouraged other Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives to emulate the approach by lobbying for logistics, infrastructure, and other development needs.
