Sunyani (Bono), Sept. 1, GNA – The Sunyani Municipal Assembly (SMA) will soon pilot a solar streetlights project to improve lighting, security and the appearance of the municipality.
The project is an initiative of Mr Vincent Antwi Agyei, Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), and Mr Seid Mubarak, Member of Parliament for Sunyani East Constituency.
According to a statement issued and signed by Mr Gati Blaise Makafui, Media Relations Officer of the SMA, the project would later be extended to other communities, urging residents to remain calm.
It said the first phase would cover the Sunyani Medical Village enclave, Abesim Olistar Area, Sunyani Municipal Assembly enclave and the Oti Yeboah Complex Limited-Nkrankrom road.
The statement, copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani, said the initiative formed part of efforts by the Assembly to promote a brighter, safer and more attractive municipality while improving security.
