Kwadaso NDC chairmanship hopeful pledges to increase party votes

By Muyid Deen Suleman

Kwadaso (Ash), Sept. 15, GNA – Mr Moro Issah, the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman for the Kwadaso constituency in the Ashanti Region, has declared his ambition to increase the party’s votes and possibly, snatch the Parliamentary seat for the NDC in the next elections.

He said although the Kwadaso constituency was widely regarded as one of the strongholds of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), he was determined to gradually change the political narrative and prove that the NDC could also mobilise support and win meaningful votes in the area.

In his view, political strength was not only about tradition and past voting patterns, but also about consistent engagement with party supporters and delivering the people’s expectations.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi, Mr Issah, who is seeking another term as chairman, said it was incumbent upon him to lead the NDC in the Kwadaso constituency to an appreciable level, building momentum and strengthening structures, before stepping down as chairman.

He noted that leadership continuity was critical in party politics, especially in constituencies where opponents were already well organised, adding that delegates must consider performance over mere promises.

He said there had been a continuous increase in votes in the Kwadaso constituency since he became chairman but indicated that this positive trend did not happen by chance; it came because of sustained campaigns, active grassroots outreach and ensuring regular party activities were carried out regularly.

He indicated that, in recent times, the party had been more visible in the area through community engagement and the steady mobilisation of supporters during key political activities.

Mr Issah also remarked that since the NDC came to power about a year and a half ago, he had continued to ensure that party faithfuls in Kwadaso were not left out of the national cake.

In practical terms, this included encouraging constituents to take advantage of government programmes and reinforcing the link between the party and the people at the constituency level, so that benefits and development were felt, he said.

He, therefore, urged delegates to recognise his track record and maintain him as chairman for continuity of his good works.

He further appealed to all delegates to vote for him to consolidate the gains made so far, stressing that maintaining the same leadership would help the party to remain united and focused ahead of future polls.

He said the NDC’s goal for Kwadaso was not only to win more votes but to position the party strongly enough to contest for the MP seat with confidence.
