Dambai (O/R) Sept 7, GNA – Mr Nelson Kofi Djabab, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Krachi East Constituency, is set to honour outstanding candidates who excelled in the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), as part of efforts to recognise academic excellence and encourage young people to pursue higher educational goals.

The Krachi East 2026 BECE Scholar Awards, scheduled for September 10, 2026, will recognise candidates who attained aggregates between six and nine, as well as candidates with Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

According to a statement signed by the MP and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the initiative is aimed at celebrating the constituency’s brightest students while extending recognition and support to candidates who may have faced additional challenges in their educational journey.

It said the beneficiaries are expected to receive a range of educational support items, including school trunks, mattresses, cash, and educational materials.

The programme, under the theme “Celebrating Our Brightest Stars and All Candidates with PWDs,” is expected to bring together beneficiaries, parents, education stakeholders and community members to celebrate the students’ achievements.

The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in front of the MP’s office, beside Arena’s Spot, at 1100 hours on September 10, 2026.

The initiative is also expected to serve as motivation for students in the constituency to remain committed to their studies and strive for academic excellence.
