Accra, Sept. 27, GNA – Asante Kotoko suffered their first defeat of the 2025-26 Ghana Premier League season after a 2-0 loss to Aduana FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Goals from Stephen Amankona and Seidu Saana handed the Dormaa-based side a famous victory and ended Kotoko’s unbeaten start to the campaign.
Aduana FC played the second half with 10-men after Raymond Agyemang was sent in the 42nd minute after a second yellow card but the ‘Ogyaa Boys’ still won the game.
Accra Hearts of Oak also tasted defeat for the first time this season, falling 1-0 to Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
A late strike from Ammar Zaidan secured Karela’s second win of the season and condemned the Phobians to defeat.
The result saw Hearts drop to second place on the league table, while Karela climbed to seventh.
Reigning champions Medeama SC produced an impressive performance to thrash Basake Holy Stars 4-1 at the TnA Stadium.
Patrick Ocran gave the visitors the lead in the 15th minute, but Medeama responded emphatically through Prince Owusu, Emmanuel Annor, Kelvin Nkrumah and Kinsley Braye to secure all three points.
Elsewhere, Port City FC recorded their first away victory of the season with a 2-0 win over Bibiani Gold Stars.
Emmanuel Intori and Robert Gyamfi found the back of the net to secure the historic result for the visitors.
In other matches, Bechem United edged Dreams FC 1-0, Berekum Chelsea played out a 1-1 draw with Vision FC, FC AshantiGold ’04 defeated Debibi United FC 2-1, while Swedru All Blacks FC and FC Samartex 1996 settled for a 1-1 draw.
Young Apostles FC also lost at home to Heart of Lions.
