Keta (V/R), Sept. 09, GNA – The Keta Education Fund, has announced a donation of over 5,000 exercise books and other stationery including writing board markers, to support teaching and learning in schools within the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region.
The donation, courtesy of Madam Enyonam Adzo Apetorgbor, the Founder, was scheduled to be presented on September 11, at 1000 hours, at the Education Directorate of the Keta Municipal Assembly, in an event expected to bring together education stakeholders, school authorities and officials of the Fund.
Madam Apetorgbor, said the writing boards markers were intended to replace the ageing blackboards currently in use in some schools within the Municipality.
“The move is expected to significantly improve classroom conditions for both teachers and learners, and it also forms part of our continued commitment to investing in quality education in Keta Municipality and beyond,” she noted.
She stated that based on the motto of the Fund: “Investing in Quality Education, Empowering the Future,” it sought to support learners, improve teaching and learning outcomes, and create better classroom spaces across schools in the Keta Municipality.
Madam Apetorgbor explained that the initiative was designed to directly ease the financial burden on parents and school regarding the provision of basic learning materials, as well as address longstanding infrastructural gaps such as the continued reliance on worn-out blackboards in many classrooms.
She said that her generosity and kind gesture through the donation was to demonstrate the commitment to the educational development of children, especially vulnerable ones within the Municipality.
She called on individuals, corporate bodies and well-wishers to partner with them in supporting quality education within the Municipality, stressing that sustainable improvement in the state of schools required collective efforts from all stakeholders, both within Keta and beyond.
She told the Ghana News Agency that investment in basic educational resources remained one of the most effective ways of positioning the next generation of learners for academic success.
The Keta Education Fund managers assured the public that further details regarding the distribution of the items to beneficiary schools would be communicated in due course, while encouraging continued support for the mission of building a stronger educational future for the people of the area.
They called on stakeholders, individuals, assembly members, educationists and the public to come in their numbers to support them during the donation ceremony at the forecourt of the Keta Municipal Assembly.
