Asokore-Mampong (Ash) Sept 09, GNA – Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak, Member of Parliament (MP) for Asawase, has reiterated his commitment to work to ensure that the constituency received its fair share of development.
He said it was his duty as an MP to ensure that the people see tangible development projects that would help translate into visible improvement and benefits for the people.
Alhaji Muntakah, who is also the Minister for the Interior, was speaking at the inauguration of two new classroom blocks at Asokore Mampong R/C Primary and one at New Aboabo M/A Primary (Middle B), in the constituency.
The projects, financed through the District Assembly Common Fund, consist of a 6-unit classroom block at Asokore Mampong R/C Primary, a 3-unit block specifically for Asokore-Mampong Kindergarten, and an additional 6-unit block at New Aboabo M/A Primary.
These new classrooms are anticipated to significantly alleviate overcrowding and foster a more conducive environment for enhanced teaching and learning experiences for the pupils.
The MP unveiled plans to institute an award scheme dedicated to recognizing teachers in Asokore Mampong, who exhibited exceptional commitment to their profession and significantly contributed to improved academic performance.
He also pledged to furnish teachers with comfortable and appropriate chairs and tables, underscoring the crucial importance of decent working conditions for educators.
Beyond initiatives for teacher welfare, the MP revealed that funding has been successfully secured for the construction of a new Municipal Education Office.
Additionally, he pledged to establish an ultramodern playground for the pupils of Asokore Mampong R/C Primary.
Alhaji Muntaka was joined by Mr. Ben Abdullah Alhassan, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area, along with traditional and religious leaders, to officially inaugurate the projects.
