Hoe, Sept. 16, GNA – Torgbega Sesinu VI, Paramount Chief of the Hoe Traditional Area in the Ho Municipality, has appealed to the Government and development partners to support efforts to improve accommodation, water supply and telecommunications services in the community.
He said the Traditional Council was constructing an eight-unit accommodation facility for teachers and nurses to enhance the delivery of essential services in the area, but additional support was needed to complete the project.
Torgbega Sesinu said many teachers and nurses serving the community commute from neighbouring towns and villages, making decent accommodation a key factor in attracting and retaining personnel.
He said the facility would provide separate apartment units for teachers and nurses.
The Paramount Chief also identified poor telecommunications connectivity as a major challenge confronting the community, noting that residents in some parts of the traditional area struggled to make telephone calls or access internet services.
He appealed to the relevant authorities to help improve network coverage to facilitate communication and economic activities.
On water supply, Torgbega Sesinu said the community’s existing water system had deteriorated and required extensive rehabilitation.
Although the Traditional Council was undertaking maintenance works on the facility, he said additional assistance was needed to restore the system fully.
He said rehabilitation of the water infrastructure would precede plans to extend water supply to unserved communities and sections of the traditional area, explaining that the current state of the system made expansion difficult.
Torgbega Sesinu made the appeal ahead of his outdooring and grand durbar as Paramount Chief and President of the Hoe Traditional Council, scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Hoe R.C. Park.
He said stakeholders had been invited to support the area’s development agenda, particularly the accommodation project.
The traditional area, whose main occupation is farming, comprises three divisions: Kpele, which holds the paramountcy, and Tokor and Dzogbefeme.
Torgbega Sesinu noted that the paramount stool remained vacant for 11 years before his enstoolment on May 1, 2026.
He said his vision was to unite the people and promote development through education, improved infrastructure, and community collaboration.
