Accra, Sept. 13, GNA – Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko maintained their unbeaten starts to the 2026-27 Ghana Premier League season with impressive victories on Matchday two.
Hearts of Oak came from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Bibiani Gold Stars at the DUN’s Park.
Gold Stars’ Kwame Opoku put the home side ahead in the 11th minute, but the Phobians responded strongly after the break, with Yaw Baafi and Kwaku Boateng Henry scoring in quick succession to complete the turnaround.
The victory marked Hearts’ second consecutive win of the season, keeping them among the early pacesetters.
At the Baba Yara Stadium, Asante Kotoko registered a 2-1 victory over Heart of Lions to remain unbeaten after two matches.
Emmanuel Mamah opened the scoring in the 27th minute before Isaac Opoku Agyemang doubled the lead in the 63rd minute. The Porcupine Warriors now have four points from their opening two games.
Elsewhere, Swedru All Blacks edged league debutants Debibi United 1-0 thanks to a solitary strike from John Josiah Andoh.
Young Apostles recorded their first win of the campaign with a narrow 1-0 triumph over Basake Holy Stars, with Samuel Prempeh scoring the decisive goal.
Berekum Chelsea bounced back from their heavy 4-0 defeat to Hearts of Oak in the opening round with a convincing 3-1 victory over Dreams FC.
Defending champions FC Samartex 1996 pulled off one of the surprises of the weekend, defeating Aduana FC 1-0 away from home. Ebenezer Okrah scored deep into second-half stoppage time to hand the Timber Giants a dramatic victory.
Karela United also enjoyed a comfortable afternoon, beating Bechem United 3-1, while FC AshantiGold ’04 secured a 3-1 win over Vision FC.
