Accra, Sept. 28, GNA – GH Schools, a technical vocational and professional training institution in Accra, has matriculated 539 students to pursue various technical, vocational and media-related programmes.
The matriculation ceremony, held on Friday in Accra, marked the commencement of a two-year practical-based training programme for the students.
Mr Confidence Agblobi Tetteh, the Registrar, said out of the 539 students, 319 would pursue diploma programmes in various media and vocational courses, while 220 would undertake Certificate of Competence programmes.
He said the institution’s educational philosophy was built on a strong commitment to producing competitive, confident and innovative graduates who would not merely add to the workforce but become agents of change in their respective industries.
“The GH Schools brand is one that can be trusted to deliver on its promises and even exceed expectations…,” he said.
The Registrar urged the students to take ownership of their learning experience, saying that the school provided a wide range of relevant skills-based training programmes.
He encouraged them to attend lectures, workshops and practical demonstrations regularly to maximise the opportunities available to them.
Sharing life skills with the students, Madam Belomina Addo Listowell, Chancellor of GH Schools, said academic growth should not be measured solely by grades, but must be reflected in students’ discipline, attitude, confidence and technical competence.
The Chancellor advised the students to ensure that every practical session contributed to their personal and professional development.
Mr John Osei Tutu Agyemang, the Director of Monitoring and Supervision, speaking on the school’s core principles, said practical training was central to the academic journey of every student at GH Schools.
He explained that the institution placed emphasis on hands-on training because industry required graduates who could effectively apply their knowledge in the workplace to solve problems, meet deadlines and use equipment responsibly.
Mr Tutu Agyemang added that industries also prioritised customer relations and, therefore, preferred graduates who could communicate effectively with clients and produce work that met professional standards.
He advised the students to view their time at GH Schools as preparation not only for examinations but also for employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
