In an anniversary address, Dr Ishmael Yamson, the MTN Ghana Board Chairman, said the company’s 30-year journey had been defined by resilience, consistency and the ability to learn from challenges.

“Success comes from something deeper. It comes from consistency. It comes from judgment, from learning from mistakes, from recovering when things do not go according to plan, and, perhaps most importantly, from staying the course,” he said.

He noted that MTN Ghana could look back with pride on an “extraordinary front nine” that had connected communities, empowered businesses, expanded financial inclusion and contributed significantly to Ghana’s digital transformation.

However, he said the company’s journey was far from over, likening its next phase to the challenging back nine of a golf course.

“Our back nine is already before us, bringing new opportunities and challenges, nationwide fibre expansion, the promise of 5G, artificial intelligence, greater innovation and a deeper, more sustainable partnership with the communities we serve,” he said.

He added that MTN Ghana remained committed to reaching Ghanaians who were still waiting for stronger connectivity and greater access to digital opportunities, while pursuing the next phase of its journey with the same discipline, resilience and integrity that had brought the company this far.

Achimota Golf Club President, Kwesi Amoafo-Yeboah, also praised MTN Ghana’s contribution to the country’s digital landscape, noting that the company’s achievements had been built on relationships, trust and partnerships.

“Technology can connect devices. Networks can connect places. But ultimately, it is trust and relationships that connect people,” he said.

The tournament attracted golfers from across Ghana and featured an 18-hole competition, providing an opportunity for corporate leaders, business executives and golf enthusiasts to network while celebrating MTN Ghana’s 30-year journey and its contribution to Ghana’s digital transformation.
