Accra, Sept. 10, GNA – The Executive Women Network (EWN), a non-governmental organisation dedicated to advancing women’s leadership, will mark its 10th anniversary with a conference and exhibition in Accra.
The two-day event, scheduled for October 1 and 2, 2026, at the Palms Convention Centre, will bring together women leaders, business executives, entrepreneurs, professionals, policymakers and other stakeholders from Ghana and across Africa.
It will provide a platform for discussions on leadership, career development and meaningful impact under the theme: “A Decade of Leadership, A Future Toward Holistic Impact”.
A release shared with the Ghana News Agency said the conference would examine what the next decade should look like for women seeking to create lasting impact in their careers, families, organisations and communities.
Madam Janet Sunkwa-Mills, Chairperson of the EWN Executive Committee, said the 10th anniversary presented an opportunity to reflect on the Network’s progress and celebrate women who had contributed to its growth.
“EWN@10 is a moment to reflect on the kind of leadership we want to champion for the next decade.
“We believe women’s leadership must create impact not only in organisations, but also in families, communities and society.
“ This anniversary gives us an opportunity to have those important conversations and inspire the next generation of women leaders,” she said.
Established in 2016, EWN was created as a community for women executives, corporate professionals and entrepreneurs to connect, share knowledge, support one another and collectively advance gender representation in leadership.
Over the past decade, the Network has grown into a community of more than 200 women leaders, extending its work beyond professional networking to mentorship, leadership development, policy advocacy and community impact.
Through initiatives such as EWN Ellevate, Empowered Women and Sister to Sister engagements, as well as partnerships and community-focused programmes, the Network has reached more than 9,500 women and created opportunities for women at different stages of their professional journeys.
EWN Ellevate, one of the Network’s flagship initiatives, focuses on developing leadership and technical skills and building confidence among young girls to better prepare them for future careers.
Since its launch, the programme has reached more than 600 girls in the Northern Region, while the Network has also partnered institutions including the University of Ghana and the African Science Academy to provide student mentoring.
The Network has also supported initiatives aimed at empowering women and children through various community engagements.
Speakers expected at the conference include Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Ms Mavis Owusu-Gyamfi, Ms Sheila Mika-Premo, Ms Margaret Jackson, Mr Komla Buami, Madam Yang Yang, Dr Stella Agyenim-Boateng, Ms Udo Maryanne Okonjo, Ms Grace Krobo-Edusei, Mr Theodore Albright and Ms Dzigbordi K. Dosoo.
The release said the EWN@10 Conference and Expo was expected to serve as a major Pan-African platform for knowledge exchange, relationship-building and the celebration of women’s leadership.
