Sunyani, (Bono), Sept 24, GNA-The Bono Regional House of Chiefs on Thursday admitted Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, the Paramount Chief of the Sunyani Traditional Area to the house.
Mrs. Jennifer Pokua Amponsah, a Sunyani Circuit Court Judge, took Odeefour Ogyeamansan Korkor II through judicial oath and the oath of secrecy, and congratulated him on his admission to the House.
“Your appointment is a recognition of the confidence placed in your abilities, experience, character and commitment to service,” she stated.
Mrs. Amponsah said: “The oath you have taken today is not merely a ceremonial exercise but represents a solemn commitment to discharge your responsibilities with integrity, diligence, impartiality and accountability.”
She encouraged the Paramount Chief to cherish and protect the prevailing peace in the traditional area, urging him to approach challenges with wisdom and courage.
Earlier, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, the President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, explained that Bono Regional Security Council (REGSEC) and a standing committee of the house had approved Odeefour Ogyeamansan Korkor II.
He added that the National House of Chiefs had also certified Odeefour Ogyeamansan Korkor II as the legitimate Paramount Chief of Sunyani and a member of the house.
Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Badu II, also the Paramount Chief of the Dormaa Traditional Area, called on Odeefour Ogyeamansan Korkor II to remain resolute and serve the House and his subjects in diligence, sincerity and in humility to advance the progressive growth and development of Sunyani.
The ceremony was witnessed by traditional rulers, persons from the security agencies and some government officials.
