Bobrama (W/R), Sept 03, GNA – Mr Patrick Assuah, Assembly Member for the Asanda-Kotokro electoral area, donated educational materials to BECE graduates who sat for the 2025/2026 examinations.
The items comprised of85 chop boxes, 440 note and exercise books and some Bicball pens.
Each beneficiary received a chop box, five exercise books and two Bic pens under the ” one student, one chop box” initiative of the Assembly Member.
Mr Patrick Assuah, who is the Assembly Member for the, Asanda-North, Kotokro Ankobra( Sanwoma) and Bobrama electoral area, said the gesture was the fourth in the series to ease the financial burden on parents whose children were being admitted into Senior High Schools and also complement efforts of the government in secondary education.
He said in 2023, 70 BECE graduates received chop boxes, with the number increasing to 82 chop boxes in 2024 and 80 to the 2025 graduates with the number soaring again to 85 chop boxes for the 2026 batch bringing the total of chop boxes donated to BECE graduates to 317 in four years.
Mr Assuah assured parents and the government that the one student one chop box initiative would be sustained every year to support holistic education delivery in the electoral area.
Making the presentation at a short ceremony at Bobrama in the Ellembelle District, Mr Wilfred Katey Adodoadji, District Director of Education, who received the materials on behalf of the Ghana Education Service (GES), thanked the Assembly Member for his steadfast support to education delivery in the electoral area.
He reminded the graduands who were being admitted into the Senior High Schools, to study hard for higher certification to fit into the world of work.
Mr Adodoadji said the 2025/2026 BECE results in the District was not impressive and implored the coming batches to study extra hard to score better grades in the subsequent BECE results.
Dr Augustine Amoako, Ellembelle District Director of Health Services, asked the school children to aim higher and emulate the shining example of Dr Kwame Nkrumah to become prominent personalities in the country.
He advised the school children not to be swayed by friends to indulge in immoral and ungodly practices.
Dr Amoako warned that substance abuse had become very common in most of the schools and advised the children to refrain from the practice and only stick to their books.
Mr Florian Wolfart, Managing Director of Ankobra Beach Resort, promised to continue to support the one student one chop box yearly initiative.
He reminded parents of their responsibility to cater for their children to grow into responsible adulthood.
Mr Wolfart said as future leaders, the children required sound moral training to contribute meaningfully to the development of the nation.
He appealed to the parents to groom their children very well in their homes to become responsible in society.
