Kumasi Sept. 02, GNA – Madam Anna Horma Akaisi Miezah, aspiring national first vice president of the NPP, says when given the nod, he will work tirelessly to rebuild and strengthen the party to enable it to return to power.
She said the party required unity, discipline, effective communication, and strong grassroots mobilisation to regain the confidence of Ghanaians ahead of the 2028 general election.
Speaking to Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview in Kumasi, she said her decision to contest the position was motivated by the desire to contribute his experience, energy, and commitment towards rebuilding the party at all levels.
She said the NPP had a strong foundation and dedicated members across the country, but there was the need for greater collaboration between the national, regional, constituency, and polling station structures.
She called on party members to put aside personal differences and work together towards a common objective, saying internal disagreements should not be allowed to weaken the party.
The aspirant said the grassroots remained the backbone of the NPP and promised to ensure that their concerns were given serious attention if elected.
She said the party’s polling station executives, electoral area coordinators and constituency executives needed the necessary support, training, and motivation to effectively mobilise voters.
She pledged to promote an open-door leadership style that would give party members the opportunity to contribute ideas to the rebuilding process.
The aspiring national first vice chairman said the party must also strengthen its communication structures to effectively explain its policies and respond to issues of concern to the Ghanaian electorate.
She noted that winning the next election would require more than political rhetoric, stressing the need for consistent engagement with communities and ordinary Ghanaians.
The NPP must listen to the concerns of the people, learn from its past experiences, and develop strategies that would restore public confidence in the party.
Madam Miezah urged party supporters to remain committed and avoid actions that could create divisions within the party.
She added that the party’s leadership must demonstrate humility, accountability, and respect for members at all levels.
She assured delegates that, when given the mandate, she would work with the National Executive Committee, parliamentary leadership, and grassroots structures to build a united and formidable party.
She said her priority would be to help create a party capable of winning the trust of Ghanaians and securing victory in the 2028 general election.
The aspirant, therefore, appealed to delegates to support his candidature, promising to dedicate herself fully to the service of the party.
She said the NPP could return to government if its members remained united, disciplined and focused on the task ahead.
She called on all members to join the rebuilding process and work together to position the party for victory in 2028.
