Amantin (Bono East), Sept. 1, GNA – Mr Michael Wilberforce Osae, Chief Executive Officer of Amantin/Kasei Community Bank PLC in the Bono East Region, says the bank has earmarked GHS21.19 million to support agribusiness growth in the area in 2026.
He said the bank had targeted about 1,000 agribusinesses across the agriculture value chain for loans under the initiative.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on the sidelines of the bank’s 21st Annual General Meeting (AGM) at its headquarters in Amantin, Mr Osae said the initiative aligned with the bank’s commitment to supporting local economic growth and development.
He said the bank was also committed to improving its financial performance, with a target of making GHS16 million profit in 2026.
Mr Osae urged loan beneficiaries to repay their facilities promptly to enable other businesses to benefit while strengthening their economic activities and improving their livelihoods.
Earlier, Mr Francis Owusu Antwi, Bono East Regional Minister, commended the bank for its initiatives and contribution to financial inclusion in the area.
He said the directors, management, and staff deserved commendation for their outstanding performance in 2025 and encouraged them to sustain the momentum and strive for greater achievements.
Mr Antwi urged shareholders and customers to remain loyal and continue transacting business with the bank.
He also urged shareholders and customers to help the bank meet the GHS5 million minimum capital requirement of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) before December 31, 2026.
The Minister entreated customers to repay their loans promptly, saying timely repayment would strengthen the bank’s financial position and enable it to continue supporting individuals and businesses.
He pledged his support for initiatives promoting the growth and sustainability of community banks in the region to accelerate socio-economic development in the Bono East.
The AGM considered the Board of Directors’ and Auditors’ reports and received and adopted the bank’s 2025 financial statements.
It also declared dividends and authorised the directors to determine the remuneration of the auditors and directors.
