Adaklu Kpatovoe (V/R), Sept. 19, GNA – The Adaklu District Assembly (ADA) is working assiduously to complete a number of development projects including all classroom blocks which were abandonwd by the previous government in the district.
This is being done in collaboration with Mr Governs Kwame Agbodza, Minister of Roads and Highways and Member of Parliament for Adaklu.
He mentioned some of them as a three-unit classroom block at Adaklu Ablornu and Adaklu Vodze and all Coastal Development Authority (CODA) classroom blocks which were at various stages of completion.
Mr Jerry Yao Ameko, Adaklu District Chief Executive Tuesday disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency on the sidelines of the commissioning and handing over of a classroom block at Adaklu Kpatovoe.
The three-unit classroom block, which was funded by the GETFund has an office, a store and a staff common room.
The DCE said several new classroom blocks and teachers’ bungalows were also being built to eliminate schools under trees and solve the accommodation problem facing teachers in the district.
He mentioned some of the beneficiary communities of the six-unit teachers’ bungalows such as Adaklu Kodzobi, Adaklu Dawanu, Adaklu Wumenu and Adaklu Kpogadzi.
The DCE hoped that the completion of the bungalows would also help supervision and monitoring of pupils by teachers in the communities.
“It will also increase the contact hours of teachers and pupils for effective teaching and learning,” he said.
Mr Ameko stated that good classroom blocks were essential in the promotion of education, teaching, and learning.
“Children in rural areas can develop their talents when we have good classroom facilities and other necessities in place,” he noted.
The DCE reminded parents not to hesitate to help their children to acquire the highest level of education, adding “those who acquire education have a lot of advantages.”
He called on the people of the area to exercise restraint as the road from Adaklu Waya through Adaklu Kpatovoe to Waya would soon be awarded on contract.
Mr Ameko stated that the Engineers of the Assembly have done an assessment on the completion of the Adaklu Kpatovoe Junior High School block and assured that work would soon start on it to bring it to the desired standard.
