Ho (V/R), Aug. 15, GNA – Voting is underway in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Volta Regional Executive elections in Ho, where 323 delegates are expected to elect the party’s regional leadership.
Mr Kafui Kwadzo Kpe, Presiding Officer for the elections, told the Ghana News Agency that all arrangements had been completed ahead of the polls, with officials of the Electoral Commission (EC) setting up the polling centre before 0600 hours.
He said voting commenced at exactly 0800 hours in accordance with the election guidelines and would close at 1500 hours.
Mr Kpe said that by 0850 hours, three delegates had cast their ballots, adding that the process was proceeding smoothly.
He assured delegates, candidates and other stakeholders that the EC would ensure the elections were conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner.
Mr Kpe urged delegates to adhere to the laid-down procedures and maintain order throughout the voting and counting processes.
A total of 30 aspirants are contesting 11 executive positions in the elections, which are expected to determine the party’s regional leadership and strengthen its structures ahead of future political activities.
