Dambai (O/R), Aug. 08, GNA – The Teria Foundation in partnership with Carter Enterprises Empire USA, is set to launch the Black Star Reggaefest, an international reggae and cultural festival designed to promote Ghana as a major destination for reggae music, cultural tourism and creative exchange.
The inaugural edition of the festival is scheduled to take place in the first week of December 2027 in Accra under the slogan, “Where the World Meets Africa Through Reggae.”
The festival is expected to attract acclaimed reggae artistes, emerging musicians, cultural practitioners, tourists, investors and music enthusiasts from Ghana, Africa, the Caribbean, the United States and other parts of the world.
The initiative is also expected to provide a platform for cultural exchange while creating opportunities for artistes, creative professionals, entrepreneurs and young people within Ghana’s growing creative economy.
The organisers said the festival would feature a series of activities, including international reggae concerts, cultural exhibitions, music business forums, youth empowerment programmes, food and craft markets and tourism experiences.
The festival would further showcase Ghana’s rich cultural heritage, music, arts, cuisine and historic attractions to international visitors, with the objective of encouraging them to explore the country beyond the festival grounds.
They said Black Star Reggaefest would serve as a bridge between Ghana and the global African diaspora, particularly communities in the Caribbean, the United States and other parts of the world where reggae music has established a strong cultural following.

Mr Walter Mawuli Gli, the Founder of the Teria Foundation, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA), that the festival formed part of the Foundation’s vision of using music and culture to connect Africa with the international community.
“Black Star Reggaefest is our vision to connect Africa with the world through reggae music, culture and tourism. We are committed to building a world-class festival that showcases Ghana’s heritage, creates opportunities for creatives and welcomes the world to the Black Star of Africa,” he said.
He said the festival would seek to create an environment where local and international artistes and creative practitioners could interact, collaborate, and explore opportunities within the global music and entertainment industry.
Ms Teresa D. Carter, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Carter Enterprises Empire USA, explained that the organisation was proud to partner with the Teria Foundation to bring the initiative to Ghana.
“We are proud to partner with the Teria Foundation on this exciting initiative. Black Star Reggaefest will celebrate unity, cultural exchange and the global spirit of reggae while strengthening the bond between Africa, the Caribbean, the United States and the worldwide African diaspora,” she said
The organisers said the partnership between the two organisations reflected a shared commitment towards promoting international cultural cooperation and creating platforms through which Ghana could strengthen its position within the global reggae and entertainment ecosystem.
They said the festival would also provide opportunities for local businesses, vendors, artisans, hospitality operators, tourism service providers and other players within the creative and cultural industries.
They expressed confidence that the event, when successfully established, would contribute to Ghana’s cultural tourism agenda by attracting international visitors and exposing them to the country’s heritage and tourism potential.
They said further information on participating artistes, programme schedules, sponsorship packages, partnership opportunities and other festival activities would be announced in due course.
The Teria Foundation is the main organiser of the Black Star Reggaefest, while Carter Enterprises Empire, USA, serves as the International Partner.
The festival is expected to bring together music, culture, tourism and business under one platform, with the broader objective of strengthening Ghana’s cultural connections with the rest of the world.
