Sogakope (V/R), Aug. 6, GNA – Mr Maxwell Kwame Lukutor, Member of Parliament (MP) for South Tongu, has announced plans for the September rollout of two major initiatives aimed at promoting youth empowerment, sports development and economic opportunities in the constituency.
The initiatives are the commencement of block moulding for the proposed Sogakope Sports Stadium Project and the launch of the “Man For Chop Apprenticeship Scheme.”
Mr Lukutor announced the plans following a strategic engagement with volunteers to discuss preparations towards the commencement of the stadium project.
The meeting focused on addressing key concerns, exploring practical approaches and strengthening collaboration among stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the initiative.
The MP said the Sogakope Sports Stadium Project represented a significant investment in the future of the constituency, particularly in providing a platform for nurturing sporting talents and promoting community activities.
He said the commencement of block moulding in September would mark an important phase in efforts towards realising the project.
Mr Lukutor also announced that the “Man For Chop Apprenticeship Scheme” would be introduced in the same month to provide skills training and economic empowerment opportunities for residents, particularly the youth.
He said the programme would equip beneficiaries with practical skills to enhance employability, encourage entrepreneurship and support sustainable livelihoods across South Tongu.
The MP said the two initiatives reflected his commitment to combining infrastructure development with human capital investment to create lasting opportunities for the people.
He called on residents, volunteers, traditional authorities, community leaders and other stakeholders to support the successful implementation of the projects.
Some residents who welcomed the announcement expressed optimism that the sports stadium would provide a suitable facility for nurturing young talents and promoting sporting activities, while the apprenticeship scheme would create avenues for skills acquisition and economic advancement.
They said the initiatives, when successfully implemented, would contribute to improving livelihoods and advancing the socio-economic development of South Tongu.
