Kiev, Aug 17, (dpa/GNA) – Several people were killed or injured in Russian attacks on Ukraine on Monday evening, according to local authorities.
A man and a woman were killed when a drone, struck an allotment garden complex in the southern city of Zaporizhzhya, regional military governor Ivan Fedorov said on Telegram.
Further drone strikes caused a power outage in a community in the Zaporizhzhya region, he added. In the southern Ukrainian port city of Odessa, authorities reported at least nine people injured in Russian attacks. “The enemy continues its terror against the civilian population of the Odessa region,” regional military governor Oleh Kiper wrote on Telegram.
Russian drone strikes hit a restaurant and several private homes, according to the Ukrinform news agency. Russia has recently stepped up attacks on civilian targets in neighbouring Ukraine, nearly four and a half years after launching its full-scale invasion.
