Russian attacks leave seven dead, several injured in eastern Ukraine

Kiev, Aug 6 (dpa/GNA) – At least seven people have been killed in Russian attacks in the Ukrainian regions of Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv, authorities said on Thursday.

At least two people were killed in an attack on the industrial city of Pavlohrad, Oleksandr Hanzha, the military governor of the south-eastern region of Dnipropetrovsk, said on Telegram. Seven people were injured, he said. Another Russian airstrike hit the municipality of Vyshneve, around 70 kilometres west of the regional capital Dnipro, leaving three dead and three injured.

In a drone attack on the railway station in the city of Losova in the eastern region of Kharkiv, two men were killed and eight others injured, according to authorities. The station building, overhead lines and railway carriages were damaged in the attack, according to Ukrainian Railways.

Authorities said a further eight people were injured in a Russian missile strike on the city of Balakliia. Ukraine has been defending itself against a Russian invasion for more than four years.
