Accra, Aug. 2, GNA – Organisers of the Women in Food & Agribusiness (WiFAI) Global Awards 2026 have opened nominations for this year’s awards, with entries from individuals and organisations worldwide closing on August 30.
The awards, scheduled for October 29, 2026, in London, will recognise women and allies whose contributions have advanced the food and agribusiness sector through leadership, entrepreneurship, research, innovation, investment and sustainability.
A release copied to the Ghana News Agency said nominations were open to individuals, organisations and institutions across the world.
It said submissions would be assessed by an independent international jury comprising experts from academia, industry, research, government, investment and international development.
The organisers have invited universities, businesses, government institutions, professional associations, development organisations, research institutions and industry bodies to nominate individuals and organisations whose work meets the published award criteria.
Nana Adjoa, Founder of Guzakuza and Convener of WiFAI Global, described the awards as the next phase of the organisation’s efforts to recognise leadership and expand opportunities across global food systems.
“For more than a decade, Guzakuza has convened leaders, supported entrepreneurs and created platforms that bring people together. The WiFAI Global Awards extends that work by recognising excellence across the international food and agribusiness community,” she said.
The awards will be presented in 20 categories, including Woman Agribusiness Founder of the Year, Woman Food Brand Founder of the Year, Food Innovation Award, AgriTech Innovator of the Year, FoodTech Innovator of the Year, Food Processing & Value Addition Award, Research & Science Excellence Award, Climate & Sustainability Leadership Award, Nutrition & Food Security Leadership Award and Rural Impact Award.
Additional categories will recognise excellence in food manufacturing, exports, hospitality, investment, research, sustainability and leadership.
The WiFAI Global Awards form part of the WiFAI Global Summit and Awards, an international forum that brings together leaders from business, government, academia, finance and development to exchange ideas, strengthen partnerships and explore opportunities across global food systems.
According to the release, WiFAI is a global platform that convenes stakeholders across food, agribusiness, investment, research, technology, finance, policy and industry through international summits, awards, partnerships and media.
The release said Guzakuza, the organiser of the awards, has connected more than 11,000 women across 36 countries over the past decade through leadership programmes, international events and professional networks aimed at expanding opportunities for women across food systems.
