Accra, Aug. 23, GNA – Ghanaian gospel musician Mz Nana has won the Best International Collaboration award at the 2026 Ghana Music Awards USA for her song “Ahoto (Comfort)”, featuring gospel artiste Obaapa Christy.

The award recognises the successful partnership between the two artistes on a song that has resonated with audiences through its message of hope, faith and encouragement.

The “Ahoto (Comfort)” song emerged winner in a category that featured other notable collaborations, including “GhanaStar” by Real Kings featuring Kofi Jamar, “Wodo (Your Love)” by Gifty K featuring Piesie Esther, “Grace” by Dr. Ama Kutin featuring Chisha, and “I Will Love You” by Enoch Boateng featuring Efe Grace.

The latest honour adds to Mz Nana’s growing profile within Ghana’s gospel music industry. She was also nominated for Gospel Artiste of the Year, alongside Royal Mama, Dr. Ama Kutin, Brother Ishmael, Cee Music, Millicent Yankey, HTSongz and Herty Corgie.

Released on December 24, 2025, “Ahoto (Comfort)” is a worship-inspired song centred on themes of comfort, renewal and divine peace. The collaboration brought together two generations of gospel musicians, blending Mz Nana’s contemporary style with Obaapa Christy’s longstanding influence in the genre.

Mz Nana, who is also Chief Executive Officer of Nayak Beauty Supply, said the title Ahoto, which translates as “Comfort”, reflects the song’s core message of reassurance and spiritual support to listeners.

The nominations for the 2026 Ghana Music Awards USA were unveiled on April 30, 2026, at The Octopus, Kumasi City Mall. The awards scheme featured 35 categories, including 24 dedicated to Ghanaian artistes based in the United States and 11 recognising achievements within Ghana’s music industry.

Organisers say the awards aim to strengthen ties between Ghana’s music industry and the Ghanaian diaspora in the United States while promoting Ghanaian music on the international stage.

Mz Nana’s victory highlights the increasing global reach of Ghanaian gospel music and the growing appeal of collaborations between established and emerging artistes.
