Momofest 2026 to open in Berekum on September 4

Sunyani, (Bono), Aug 31, GNA – MobileMoney Fintech LTD (MMFL) says it is set to open the MoMoFest 2026 at Berekum in the Bono Region to enhance customer services.

In a statement issued and signed by Paapa Osei, the Head, Legal and Reputation Management of the MMFL said the fest would be opened on September 4, 2026, using music, culture and community engagement.

The festival, a two-day revival concert, will enable customers to “do more with MoMo from everyday payments and transfers to savings, insurance, credit and safer digital transactions.”

A copy of the statement made available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani said the fest, scheduled between September 4 and September 5, 2026, will be held at the Golden City Park.

“It will feature Kweku Smoke and friends and launch a three-week activation focused on MoMo App onboarding, cashless payments, merchant engagement and fraud education,” the statement said.

The statement indicated that the Berekum activation would combine pre-festival sign-up drives, festival-week customer experiences and post-festival follow-up to move customers from awareness to confident use of the MoMo App and other digital financial services.

It said that MoMoFest has grown into a nationwide platform for digital inclusion, taking MoMo to customers through concerts, traditional festivals, tertiary activations, merchant engagements and community touchpoints that make digital finance practical, visible and relevant to everyday life.

Throughout the activation, customers and merchants will experience how MoMo can simplify daily transactions, support small businesses, expand access to financial services and make cashless payments more convenient.

Customer safety will remain central to the experience, with education on fraud tactics, PIN protection, transaction verification and official reporting channels, reinforcing MMFL’s message that as customers do more with MoMo, they must also do it safely.

“Our goal is simple: to help every customer do more with MoMo, and do it safely”, the statement quoted Mr Alfred Dowuona-Hammond, the Head of Marketing at the MMFL, as saying.

“MoMoFest gives us a direct and engaging way to show customers how MoMo can support everyday payments, business transactions and access to more financial services, while helping them stay alert and protected,” he added.

Following the Berekum opening, the MoMoFest will extend its customer engagement through major music and cultural platforms, including the Asogli Festival, ShattaFest, Rapperholic and Made in Tadi, turning high-energy public events into opportunities for app education, cashless payments and safe-use conversations.

The 2026 edition of MoMoFest is supported by Ecobank Ghana PLC, Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL), Ayo Ghana and MTN Business, whose partnership will contribute to bringing the MoMoFest experience closer to customers and communities across the country.

The 2026 edition of MoMoFest supports MMFL’s “Do More with MoMo” agenda by turning entertainment, culture and commerce into practical gateways for adoption, inclusion and trust.

MMFL invites customers, merchants and festival goers to join MoMoFest, download the MoMo App, pay digitally, explore more services and stay safe while doing more with MoMo.
