Navrongo (U/E), Aug. 31, GNA – Kacstone Records, a Ghanaian music and creative arts company, has renovated the Navrongo Divisional Police Headquarters to provide a more conducive working environment for police personnel.
The company, in addition to the renovation, donated a new signage for the Divisional Headquarters, with the inscription “Divisional Headquarters, Ghana Police Service, Navrongo”, as part of its contribution towards supporting the Police Service and promoting effective security surveillance in the area.
Mr Wenawome Duriyem Aborah, one of the Managing Directors of Kacstone Records, said the initiative was motivated by the company’s belief that development was a shared responsibility and that citizens had a duty to support institutions that served their communities.
He said the Ghana Police Service was a strategic institution essential to maintaining peace, protecting lives and property, and creating an enabling environment for community development.
Mr Aborah said it was important for citizens to help create conducive working conditions for police personnel to enable them to perform their duties effectively.
“We live in the community, and we believe that the development of every society is a shared responsibility. So, whatever little that we can also support that effort, we are ever ready,” he said.
He said Kacstone Records would continue to support the Police and other institutions whenever it had the capacity to do so, stressing that citizens’ support should not necessarily be limited to financial contributions.
Mr Aborah also called for increased deployment of police personnel and logistics to the region, particularly Navrongo, Paga and Sandema and Fumbisi, given the security implications of their locations as border communities.
He said providing the Police with adequate personnel and logistics would strengthen security operations and help deter individuals who might seek to create insecurity in the area.
Mr Aborah further commended the Ghana Police Service’s special operations team for its efforts to combat illicit drug activities and called for sustained operations in the Navrongo, Paga and Sandema areas.
He said the youth of Paga were prepared to collaborate with the Police to combat drug abuse and other activities that threatened the wellbeing of young people.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mr Daniel Anane Amoah, the Navrongo Divisional Police Commander, expressed appreciation to Kacstone Records for undertaking the renovation of the Divisional Headquarters.
“Honestly, we needed support from them and we thought they would support us financially, but at the end of the day, they took everything upon themselves that they were going to renovate the building for us,” ACP Amoah said.
He said before the intervention, the building was in a poor state, with leakages affecting the facility and some of the plywood used for the ceiling having deteriorated.
According to him, Kacstone Records addressed the leakages and replaced the deteriorated ceiling materials, giving the office block a significantly improved appearance and working environment.
ACP Amoah assured Kacstone Records that the facility would be properly maintained to prolong its usefulness, adding that the support had also helped strengthen the relationship between the Police and the community and expressed the hope that the rapport would continue.
The Divisional Commander appealed to residents to have confidence in the Police and provide information that could assist in preventing and fighting crime and assured residents that the Police would protect the confidentiality of informants who provided credible information through the appropriate channels.
The Navrongo Division comprised four district commands, namely Navrongo, Paga, Sandema and Fumbisi.
