Accra, Aug. 31, GNA ā The Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF) has announced the appointment of a new Technical Committee and an Operations Manager as part of efforts to strengthen the sport’s technical, operational and administrative structures nationwide.
The appointments were communicated in a notice issued by the Federation’s Secretary General, Mr. Kanpenkua Peter Nuntuaa Wisdom, to Regional Chairpersons and Secretaries.
Mr Simon Gluikpor has been appointed Technical Director and Chairman of the GTF Technical Committee.
Other members of the committee are Mr Fayise Selorm, Mr Bernard Ampim Darko, Mr Sebastian Atatinia Benon and Mr Percy Konadu Yiadom.
According to the Federation, the Technical Committee would support the development of taekwondo through technical programmes, athlete development, coaching, competitions and the maintenance of technical standards across the country.
The committee is also expected to work closely with regional associations and affiliated clubs to promote the growth of the sport.
In a related appointment, the Federation named Mr David Addotey as Operations Manager.
His responsibilities would include overseeing logistics, equipment management, inventory and asset control, event logistics, equipment distribution and retrieval, as well as storage and maintenance of Federation assets.
The GTF urged regional associations, clubs, coaches and officials to cooperate with the newly appointed officers to enable them to effectively carry out their duties.
The Federation said the appointments formed part of the new Executive Board’s commitment to building stronger structures aimed at enhancing the development of taekwondo across all regions of Ghana.
It congratulated the appointees and expressed confidence in their ability to contribute to the advancement of the sport.
