Effia (W/R), Aug. 19, GNA – Madam Emma Esi Aidoo, a former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Takoradi Constituency Women Organiser, has donated waste bins to security and healthcare institutions within the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, to aid in proper waste management practices.
She donated the items to the Takoradi Central, Kwesimintsim, and Sekondi Police Stations, New Takoradi Polyclinic, and some CHIPS compounds within the metropolis.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), she said the gesture formed part of her contributions to tackle growing concerns of improper waste disposal and other sanitation issues.
She said: “We have distributed the bins to these institutions as part of my philanthropic works to help maintain clean and healthy environment for the people who work and visit these institutions.”
Madam Aidoo advised the citizens to always properly disposed off their waste into bins, and avoid indiscriminate dumping them to keep the metropolis and the country clean and safe for all.
She also appealed to Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies to strictly enforce their sanitation by-laws to help deter the people from dumping refuse in drains, and other unauthorised dumping sites.
